Public Notice: Dredging for RESA Project
The following public notice has been issued by Transport Canada:
Canadian Navigable Waters Act
Toronto Port Authority hereby gives notice that a submission has been added to the Common Project Search (online registry) pursuant to the Canadian Navigable Waters Act described herein and its description.
Pursuant to paragraph 4.1 of the said Act, Toronto Port Authority has deposited a notification of a minor work in accordance with the requirements set out on the External Submission Site, on the online Common Project Search Registry (http://cps.canada.ca/) and under registry number 15354 a description of the following work:
Localized dredging of up to 2,870 m2 of accumulated sediment is proposed immediately offshore of the existing Temporary East Dock, located south of the Runway 08/26threshold at Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport. Approximately 4,800 m³ of sediment will be removed to restore sufficient water depth for the safe operation of barges and construction vessels required to transport equipment and materials in support of the Runway End Safety Area (RESA) project; in Lake Ontario; by the southeast of the Billy Bishop Airport Runway, in front of Part 4, Plan 63R-2838, City of Toronto, Province of Ontario, at approximately 43° 62′ 96.70″ North and 79° 38′ 96.60″ West.
