the Toronto Port Authority Presents 2020 Financial Results at Annual General Meeting and Releases Annual Report

Toronto (June 14, 2021) – Due to current restrictions on group gatherings, and in respect of physical distancing and health protocols, the Toronto Port Authority held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) online today. During the meeting, senior management and members of the Board of Directors provided an overview of the organization’s 2020 fiscal year and confirmed the release of its 2020 Annual Report.
 
In addition to discussing 2020 financial results at this year’s AGM, the Toronto Port Authority’s Chief Executive Officer, Geoffrey Wilson, provided an overview of the organization’s operational performance in 2020, including the launch or completion of important sustainability, community and city-building initiatives. He also addressed the challenges the Toronto Port Authority experienced in 2020 as a result of the COVID-19 global pandemic.
 
“the Toronto Port Authority’s Annual General Meeting provides an opportunity for our Board of Directors and senior management team to review our business performance for the past year and provide updates on the year underway,” said Geoffrey Wilson, Chief Executive Officer, the Toronto Port Authority. “the Toronto Port Authority entered 2020 in a strong financial position due to a solid balance sheet, growing passenger numbers at the airport, and expectations of another record year at the Port. Despite the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, confirmed in March 2020, the Toronto Port Authority remains committed to doing what it can to maintain strong business operations and support the economic recovery of Toronto in the months and years ahead.”
