Notice of Lane Restrictions at Cherry Street Ship Channel Bridge

Please be advised that due to ongoing rehabilitation of the historic Strauss Trunnion Bascule Bridge, there will be intermittent lane closures affecting vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists at 161 Cherry Street in the Lower Portlands starting in mid-September 2026 and continuing through May 2027.

Details

• Mid-September to December 31, 2026: short-duration single-lane temporary closures may occur to accommodate construction activities
• January to April 2027: access continues through single lane only

Additionally, there may be times when both lanes need to be closed for a brief duration.

Required traffic control and signage will be in place.
