The Toronto Port Authority Releases Ninth Annual ESG Report

The Toronto Port Authority is proud to present its ninth-annual Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) report. This year’s report is the first report issued following the formalization of the organization’s ESG strategy in 2023, and it underscores the Toronto Port Authority’s dedication to minimizing impact and integrating sustainable practices throughout its operations, including Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport, the marine Port of Toronto and the Outer Harbour Marina.

Highlights from the 2023 the Toronto Port Authority ESG report include:

  • The Toronto Port Authority continues to choose 100 per cent renewable energy via Bullfrog Power – which has allowed the Toronto Port Authority to displace more than 31,233 tonnes of CO2 since 2010.
  • In 2023, Nearly 63,000 small pieces of plastic debris were removed from Lake Ontario as part of the Toronto Port Authority Trash Trapping Program.
  • The Toronto Port Authority invested more than $360,000 in our communities in 2023, and has contributed $28 million in community investment and environmental initiatives since 2009.
  • A new vision developed and unveiled in 2023, Transportation Reimagined, is reflective of the Toronto Port Authority’s determination to lead the future of transportation and deliver solutions for connectivity, economic opportunity and quality of life in Toronto.
