New Canadians, New Beginnings: A Citizenship Ceremony at Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport

Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport recently welcomed Canada’s newest citizens during a special citizenship ceremony hosted by the Toronto Port Authority in partnership with Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), the RCAF Foundation and Nieuport Aviation.

The ceremony brought together individuals from around the world who took the Oath of Citizenship and officially became Canadians, joined by family members, friends and community supporters.

Guests were welcomed by event partners and community leaders, including Member of Parliament Chi Nguyen and members of the Royal Canadian Air Force Snowbirds, who helped mark the occasion.

Citizenship ceremonies are an important milestone, recognizing the contributions newcomers make to communities across Canada and the shared commitment that comes with becoming a citizen.

As a gateway to Canada’s largest city, Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport connects people to opportunities, experiences and communities every day. Hosting a citizenship ceremony offered a unique opportunity to celebrate those connections and welcome new Canadians at a place that serves as a point of arrival and departure for millions of travellers each year.

The event also highlights the Toronto Port Authority’s broader role in supporting mobility, connectivity and economic opportunity. Through its airport, marine port and waterfront operations, the organization helps connect people to each other, to their communities and to opportunities across the region and beyond.

Congratulations to these new Canadians!
